Today we celebrate all voluntary blood donors around the world! We cannot stress enough the importance of blood donation to biomedical research in general and to Advanced Therapy R&D in particular, but first and foremost, this day is about blood donation for transfusions of blood or blood products. Introduced in 2004 by the WHO, World Blood Donor Day serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood donation and high-quality blood products. These products are indispensable during and after surgery, and in the care of many patients with debilitating chronic illnesses.

RESTORE encourages everybody to become a regular blood donor to help save lives!
